If you’re considering a logo for your business or organization, there are some things you can do in preparation for an initial meeting.
Questions To Consider: These question may seem obvious, but I have found that they can help you focus on the process and prepare you to talk about what you are looking for.
- Why are you inquiring about a logo design?
- Do you currently have a logo?
- Are there any colors associated with your organization?
- Is your organization known by any other names?
- What are the first three things that the logo will be used for?
Create an Idea File. This is a simple way to collect visual items to help communicate your tastes. It is a quick place to collect logos, colors or images of things that you like, or items that relate to your organization. (Such as other logos, materials from vendors in your industry and so on.)
Understanding Different the Types of Logos: There are different categories of logos and a number of ways to break them down. For our purposes we will limit the categories to three:
Letter Mark: Company initials
Word Mark: Company name only
Illustrated Mark: Graphic or Mascot driven identity
Start Things Rolling: When you’re ready to discuss what you want, contact me by phone or email and we will schedule an appointment to meet (online or in person as is appropriate). In addition to the information above, we will also discuss timelines and costs and what the next steps will be.
